India’s most desirable luxury carmaker Mercedes-Benz, announced a historic double milestone, recording both its highest-ever quarterly sales (Q3 2026) and best-ever January-September sales performance in India. Mercedes-Benz delivered 15,190 new vehicles to customers during January-September 2026, registering an ~8% growth over 14,132 units sold in the corresponding period last year, making it the strongest nine-month sales performance in the company’s history in India. The company also achieved its best-ever quarterly sales performance, retailing 5,422 vehicles between July and September 2026, an increase of 6% compared to 5,119 units retailed in Q3 2025. Mercedes-Benz also registered a 17% quarter on quarter (Q2 to Q3 26) sales growth, owing to ongoing festive demand and the success of Mercedes-Benz ‘Dream Days Campaign’ which introduced innovative financial products for aspiring customers.
Mercedes-Benz’s record sales performance was driven by sustained demand across the Top-End Luxury, Core Luxury and Entry Luxury segments, supported by compelling product interventions, a strategically upgraded luxury retail network, and differentiated customer experience. The strong momentum highlights the growing desirability of Mercedes-Benz brand among Indian luxury customers and reflects the company’s focus on value-led growth, customer centricity and quality of business and sales.
Iconic products inspires demand for the Top-End Luxury segment:
Demand for Mercedes-Benz’s Top-End Luxury portfolio remained exceptionally strong during January-September 2026, accounting for more than 25% of sales penetration and registering +13% year-on-year growth. Flagship models including the GLS, S-Class, Mercedes-Maybach and AMG G 63 continued to
witness strong customer traction, underscoring the growing preference for exclusive, highly personalized luxury experiences among discerning Indian customers. The extra-LWB V-Class has emerged as a preferred vehicle of choice for customers taking long intercity travels and also for airport travels.
Reflecting this trend, Mercedes-Benz’s bespoke MANUFAKTUR programme, which offers an elevated level of personalization through meticulously curated materials, distinctive design elements and exceptional craftsmanship, accounted for ~ 75% of all Top-End Luxury vehicle sales in India. The AMG G 63 further reinforced its iconic status by recording its highest-ever monthly sales, despite maintaining a long waiting period, highlighting the enduring desirability and exclusivity of the model.
Sustained demand buoying ‘Core’ segment: Robust demand for Mercedes-Benz’s LWB portfolio
The ‘Core Luxury’ segment remained the cornerstone of Mercedes-Benz India’s growth trajectory, contributing ~60% of total sales during January-September 2026. Strong and sustained demand for the C-Class, Long Wheelbase E-Class, GLC and GLE drove the segment performance, with all four models achieving strong monthly sales in each quarter of 2026.
The Long Wheelbase E-Class continued its dominant run as the highest-selling luxury car in India, while the success of the C-Class, GLC and GLE reaffirmed the enduring appeal of Mercedes-Benz’s core product portfolio, driving customer loyalty. As the largest contributor to overall sales, the Core Luxury segment remains a key driver of the brand’s value-led growth in India.
Entry Luxury: Strong product substance and value of GLA and CLA BEV grows the segment
Mercedes-Benz ‘Entry Luxury’ portfolio comprising the GLA SUV and the CLA BEV continued to offer high product substance, driving substantial value proposition for luxury customers. Mercedes-Benz Entry Luxury products are feature loaded underpinning a ‘value-oriented’ sales approach that successfully caters to the growing aspirations of young customers.
In Jan-Sep 2026, Mercedes-Benz ‘Entry Luxury Segment’ maintained steady growth of 4% comprising ~15% of total sales mix, driven by high product substance of GLA and the CLA BEV.
Mercedes-Benz’s BEV demand stays unabated: More than 1000 orders for CLA BEV
Mercedes-Benz sustained its BEV growth momentum in India, with BEV portfolio growing by 16% during January-September 2026 period, despite limited vehicle availability. The overwhelming response to CLA BEV, particularly from a younger generation of luxury buyers, signals a clear shift towards software
defined, technology-led and sustainable luxury mobility. With 1,000+ confirmed orders and deliveries extending to March 2027, the CLA BEV has instantly established itself as one of India’s most sought-after new-age luxury electric vehicles.
Simultaneously, the EQS SUV, EQS Maybach SUV and the G580 continued to attract strong interest from top-end customers, highlighting the growing appeal of Mercedes-Benz’s electric portfolio across both emerging and established luxury buyer segments.
