German luxury carmaker Mercedes‑Benz has unveiled a sneak peek of the cabin of its upcoming GLB EV, showcasing a tech-rich interior designed to heighten comfort, connectivity and premium feel for electric-SUV buyers.
The chief highlight of the GLB EV’s cabin is the optional “Superscreen” a sweeping digital display that stretches nearly the full width of the dashboard. It lodges infotainment, navigation and vehicle-control functions into a unified interface intended to deliver an immersive user experience. Alongside, Mercedes has equipped a floating centre console, redesigned concave door panels offering extra storage, and a new multifunction steering wheel featuring rocker switches for cruise and audio controls.
In terms of spatial design and versatility, the GLB EV appears to cater to both families and tech-savvy drivers. The first two seating rows offer greater head- and leg-room advances, while an optional third row expands capacity to seven occupants — a notable feature in the luxury compact-SUV segment.
On the performance and testing front, Mercedes says the GLB EV is undergoing rigorous cold-weather trials including environments down to –40 °C and simulated blizzard conditions. While detailed specs such as battery capacity and driving range are still pending, the interior preview signals the brand’s commitment to driver comfort, digital integration and cabin innovation.
From a broader perspective, this interior reveal underscores Mercedes’ efforts to stake a claim in the premium electric-SUV market, blending high-tech features with flexible seating arrangements and luxury finishes. Industry watchers believe that features such as the Superscreen, intuitive control layout and thoughtful cabin design will help the GLB EV differentiate itself in a crowded field.
With global demand for upscale EVs on the rise, the GLB EV arrives at a timely moment. If Mercedes can couple this sophisticated interior with strong battery performance and competitive pricing, the model has the potential to appeal to both urban buyers seeking tech-rich mobility and families looking for sustainable luxury transport.
