Montra Electric, a part of TI Clean Mobility, has announced that its flagship heavy-duty EV, the Rhino 5538EV, has crossed a record 1.2 crore kilometres in just two years of operations. The milestone shows that electric trucks are no longer on trial runs but are steadily proving their worth in real-world logistics.

Currently, around 350 Rhino trucks are running across the country, serving sectors like cement, steel, and port logistics. Together, they have helped avoid nearly 3.8 million tonnes of CO₂ emissions—a saving that’s equal to planting more than 180 million trees.

Fleet operators using the Rhino are reporting uptime of over 98%, which is remarkable for heavy-duty trucks that often run round the clock. Lower running costs compared to diesel and 24×7 onsite support have further strengthened its position as a reliable clean freight solution.

On the technical side, the Rhino packs a 282 kWh LFP battery and a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor producing 380 hp and 2,000 Nm torque. It also supports fast charging up to 240 kW, charging from 20% to 100% in about an hour. Its certified range stands at 169 km, making it well-suited for industrial haulage.

Montra Electric isn’t stopping here. The company plans to expand the Rhino line with 4×2 tractor-trailers and 6×4 tippers, widening choices for different cargo needs. Driver comfort has also been a priority, with features like AMT transmission, lower NVH levels, and improved handling for long routes.

With this achievement, Montra Rhino is positioning itself as a frontrunner in India’s heavy-duty EV market. The numbers show that green freight isn’t just a concept anymore—it’s a viable, profitable reality for operators and a big step towards sustainable logistics.
