Ola Electric is set to launch its first sports scooter via a special event scheduled for August 15, as confirmed by the company through its social media channels. Specifications, pricing, and availability details are expected to be revealed during this unveiling.
Reservations for the upcoming sports scooter have already commenced, with bookings available for a nominal ₹499 refundable token amount. The company says it has already recorded over 100,000 pre-booked reservations within the first 24 hours of the booking window opening in July.
The announcement comes from Bhavish Aggarwal, Ola Electric’s chief executive, who confirmed the launch date and promised to disclose full specifications and availability information at the event.
While detailed performance figures remain under wraps, the new model is expected to offer enhanced speed and styling compared to the company’s existing electric scooters, aligning with its “sports” branding.
Ola Electric has also been expanding its charging infrastructure footprint. The company is working toward deploying its Ola Hypercharger network, aiming to establish 100,000 charging points across 400 cities in India. These chargers are designed to deliver up to 75 km of range in just 18 minutes.
The forthcoming launch takes place at the company’s advanced manufacturing facility FutureFactory in Tamil Nadu—which currently has an annual production capacity of 2 million scooters, with plans to scale up to 10 million units in the near future.
