Indian electric mobility maker Omega Seiki Mobility has announced its entry into the passenger electric two-wheeler segment with the launch of a new e-scooter called the OSM Vextra. The move marks a strategic expansion from the company’s traditional focus on commercial electric vehicles into personal EVs aimed at daily commuters and urban riders.

Priced at ₹99,900 (ex-showroom), the Vextra is positioned as an affordable electric scooter option in a rapidly growing EV market. It features a 3 kW BLDC hub motor, a 3.45 kWh LMFP battery, and offers a claimed real-world range of over 110 km on a single charge — figures that the company says will meet the needs of everyday urban travel.

The scooter’s performance specs include a top speed of 70 km/h, multiple riding modes (Eco, City, Sports), and a suite of modern conveniences such as a 3.5-inch colour LCD display, USB charging ports, and reverse parking assist. Safety and reliability features include a Combined Braking System (CBS) and IP67-rated motor and battery components for resistance against dust and water exposure.

Omega Seiki Mobility said production for the Vextra will take place at its Faridabad manufacturing facility, where up to 25,000 units can be built annually. The company also plans to support sales through an expanding dealer network — with more than 200 outlets across Tier-I, II and III cities in India — and eye exports to select overseas markets.

Company leadership highlighted that the launch is part of a broader push to democratize clean mobility in India. Uday Narang, Founder & Chairman, stated that the Vextra reflects the firm’s commitment to offering technology-led EVs for everyday transportation, not just in major metro areas but also in smaller cities where efficient electric mobility can significantly impact daily life.

Market analysts note that Omega Seiki’s foray into personal electric two-wheelers comes at a time when India’s EV adoption continues to rise, supported by government incentives and growing consumer demand for affordable, emissions-free transportation. With established strengths in commercial EV segments — including cargo and passenger three-wheelers — the company’s expansion into scooters could help broaden its footprint in the evolving electric vehicle landscape.
