Polycab India Ltd has launched its hybrid inverter and battery pack at the Renewable Energy India (REI) Expo 2026 in Greater Noida. The launch expands the company’s solar product portfolio as it continues to develop solutions for India’s renewable energy sector. The new offerings add to Polycab’s focus on integrating solar power generation with energy storage.
Polycab entered the solar segment in 2012 with the manufacturing of solar DC cables and introduced solar on-grid inverters in 2016. Since then, the company has expanded its portfolio to include solar inverters, cables and balance-of-system products. Its India-manufactured solar grid-tie inverters cover capacities ranging from 2 kW to 350 kW and serve residential, commercial, industrial and utility-scale applications. The company has supplied 6 GW of inverter capacity through more than 11 lakh inverters.
According to the latest Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) estimates cited by Polycab, its inverters account for 30% of the rooftop installations completed under the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana. The company’s hybrid inverter and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) portfolio also aligns with the evolving rooftop solar market, where energy storage and grid readiness are becoming important considerations.
At REI Expo 2026, Polycab is showcasing its residential, commercial and industrial inverters, hybrid inverters and utility-grade inverters. The display also includes AC and DC distribution boxes, solar cables and accessories such as lugs, glands and jointing kits. The company is focusing on strengthening its domestic solar manufacturing capabilities through backward integration, innovation and localisation to improve supply chain resilience.
Polycab currently supplies utility inverters with capacities of up to 350 kW and plans to introduce a 500 kW platform in 2027. The company is targeting utility-scale solar opportunities under the PM-KUSUM scheme and the emerging 5 GW floating solar opportunity under the Pradhan Mantri Surya Sarovar Yojana (PM-SSY). It is also preparing advanced grid-forming inverter technology to support grid stability and resilience as renewable energy integration increases.
Commenting on the launch, Anurag Agarwal, CEO – Global Exports & New Businesses at Polycab India Ltd, said that technological developments and changing energy requirements are creating new growth opportunities in the solar inverter sector. He highlighted the company’s aim to strengthen its capabilities and contribute to India’s clean energy ambitions as the country works towards 500 GW of non-fossil energy capacity by 2030. Polycab also stated that its solar inverter portfolio up to 100 kW has completed Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) registration, reflecting its focus on quality, energy efficiency and regulatory compliance.
