PURE EV, the top 2W EV OEM in India, launched a joint venture with Pragmatic Design Solutions Ltd. (PDSL), a UK company. PURE EV and PDSL (UK) have a common goal of revolutionizing electric mobility and improving the affordability of transportation. Together, we work to meet the changing demands of customers in both local and global markets. Since 2010, “PDSL (Pragmatic Design Solutions Limited) has provided cutting-edge engineering and digital technology solutions to a range of clients, including OEMs such as Aston Martin, Jaguar Land Rover, Volkswagen, Bentley, Lotus, McLaren, Rivian, VInFast, Polestar, Volta Trucks, Panasonic, and LG.”

The development of a high-performance EV 2W with a focus on the Indian and global markets was mapped out by PURE and PDSL. The Coventry University Technology Park in the United Kingdom, which is regarded as the world’s top automotive hub for EV technology, will host the joint venture.

The collaboration intends to create a ground-breaking product with a top speed of over 100 km/h, a mileage of 250 km, and an AI-based powertrain platform that provides quick on-board charging and user-friendly troubleshooting. The product will seamlessly merge cutting-edge technology with sustainable design concepts.

Through the onboarding of the global supply chain to the distribution network, this strategic relationship unites PDSL’s outstanding engineering services with PURE EV’s experience in battery and electric vehicle design. The product will have cutting-edge software capabilities, a dynamic drivetrain, and modern battery technology. The product is currently under development, with a scheduled launch in early 2025.

The CEO of PURE EV, Rohit Vadera, commented on the collaboration, saying, “PURE is excited to be entering the premium Scooter segment having tasted success in the EV 2W commuter segment.” As a company, PURE EV has always worked to push the limits of electric mobility, using our strong R&D resources to provide our clients with state-of-the-art solutions. We are well-positioned to seize new opportunities and launch products that not only meet but beyond our customers’ expectations thanks to our partnership with PDSL UK. A joint venture with PDSL is the best way to move closer to our goal of creating a premium product that is acceptable in India and a few other foreign markets.

“Based in the heart of West Midlands, PDSL will leverage its unmatched electrification engineering and supply chain capabilities to bolster the future growth of PURE EV through the establishment of a newly created Joint Venture for Research & Development,” stated Dr. Steve Simplay, Director of MSME at PDSL. PDSL will assist in the development of solid state batteries in addition to helping a number of EV OEMs with their electrification journey. With a strong portfolio that includes more than 120 IP filings, PURE EV now has a network of more than 150 locations and plans to use PDSL’s experience to grow the company internationally. Together, we hope to provide clients with even more cutting-edge electric mobility solutions while building a solid, flexible supply chain to support continued development and expansion.

“We at PDSL UK are excited to ignite this game-changing partnership to help revolutionize electric mobility by supporting the development of cutting-edge Solid State EV Batteries,” stated Ned Jolic, Senior Manager at PDSL. The partnership aims to create a product that redefines performance and sustainability by combining PDSL UK’s engineering expertise with PURE EV’s inventiveness in electric vehicle design. The JV paves the way for a revolutionary journey toward high-performance, reasonably priced electric mobility that will shape transportation in India and around the world in the future.

A brand-new electric two-wheeler with cutting-edge features is being developed in the UK and is set to debut in the Indian and global markets.
