Chennai-based EV startup Raptee.HV has unveiled what it calls India’s first high-voltage electric motorcycle, the T30. This launch is being hailed as a landmark moment in India’s EV two-wheeler space, bringing in architecture more commonly seen in electric cars.
The T30 is built on a 240V high-voltage system, which supports significantly faster charging than conventional two-wheel EVs. Crucially, it is compatible with CCS2 DC fast charging, meaning it can plug into charging stations designed for electric cars — a first for an electric motorcycle in the country.
In terms of performance, the T30 packs a punch. Its IP67-rated battery system offers up to 200 km on the IDC cycle, while real-world range is pegged at around 150 km per charge. Raptee also claims a 0–60 km/h acceleration in under 3.5 seconds — quite aggressive for a two-wheeler. The company backs its battery technology with an 8-year or 80,000 km warranty, indicating confidence in its durability.
Priced at ₹2.39 lakh (ex-showroom), the T30 competes in the premium EV motorcycle segment, on par with 250–300 cc petrol bikes. Since its soft launch in October 2024, Raptee says it has already logged over 8,000 registrations, hinting at robust market enthusiasm.
On the regulatory front, Raptee.HV has secured ARAI certification, allowing it to manufacture and sell the T30 across India. The startup has also received backing from the Technology Development Board (TDB) under the Department of Science & Technology, further cementing its credibility as a homegrown high-voltage EV pioneer.
Looking ahead, Raptee.HV plans to build on this high-voltage platform by launching a new electric motorcycle every year. The strategy underscores their ambition to deepen their EV portfolio while preserving the T30’s hallmark traits: speed, efficiency, and fast charging.
