Pune-based battery manufacturer Replus has announced plans to increase its production capacity from the current 1 GWh to 6 GWh by the financial year 2025-26. This strategic expansion aims to address the surging demand in India’s electric vehicle (EV) and energy storage system (ESS) sectors.

The upgraded facility will incorporate next-generation battery technologies and advanced manufacturing processes, including high-speed automation and cutting-edge cell chemistry. These enhancements are designed to meet the rapidly increasing demand in the Indian market.

Riju Jhunjhunwala, Vice Chairman of LNJ Bhilwara Group, stated, “The expansion of the Replus plant to 6 GWh marks a significant milestone in our commitment to driving India’s sustainable growth and energy transition.”

The expanded plant will produce batteries for a wide range of EV applications, including passenger vehicles, buses, electric trucks, and grid-scale renewable plants. It will feature advanced battery packs and Liquid-Cooled Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) container solutions.

This development aligns with India’s broader goals of promoting sustainable energy solutions and reducing carbon emissions. By significantly increasing its production capacity, Replus is poised to play a crucial role in supporting the country’s transition to cleaner energy alternatives.

The expansion also reflects the growing confidence and investment in India’s EV and energy storage markets, signaling a positive trajectory for the nation’s green energy initiatives.
