River has announced an industry-first 8-year or 80,000 km warranty on the battery and motor of its flagship scooter, the River Indie. The new warranty program, effective October 1, 2025, is designed to give customers greater confidence in long-term EV ownership.
The plan offers battery coverage if its health drops below 70% and motor protection in case of non-functionality, even after repair attempts. New customers purchasing after April 1, 2025, can opt for the plan at ₹8,399 plus GST, while existing customers with a 5-year warranty can upgrade for ₹3,399 plus GST during a limited one-month window.
River currently operates 32 outlets across 15 Indian cities, including Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Kochi, and has plans to expand to Pune, Vijayawada, and Trivandrum in 2026. The growing network is aimed at strengthening service and support for its fast-expanding customer base.
Founded in 2021 by Aravind Mani and Vipin George, River has attracted investments from global players such as Yamaha Motor, Mitsui & Co., Marubeni Corporation, Al Futtaim Group, and Toyota Ventures. The company has built a strong reputation for engineering and customer-focused innovation in the EV space.
By offering India’s longest scooter warranty, River is setting a new benchmark in the electric two-wheeler market. The move not only boosts consumer trust but also reinforces the company’s ambition to accelerate the adoption of durable and reliable electric mobility solutions across the country.
