Skoda is prepared to launch its reasonably priced electric vehicle in the Indian market by 2027, following the announcement that the Enyaq and Elroq EVs will be released the following year.

A range of new electric cars, including the brand-new Kylaq compact SUV, which will retail for Rs. 7.89 lakh (ex-showroom), will be introduced by Skoda Auto India. Following the launch of the Elroq EV and Enyaq EV, the Czech carmaker will begin to expand its EV lineup.

According to media sources, the next affordable EV is anticipated to reach India after 2027. Furthermore, according to sources cited by Gaadiwaadi, the electric car will be produced in Skoda’s Aurangabad facility and will resemble Kushaq’s design.

Furthermore, it is expected that the low-cost EV will be largely localized in order to maintain competitive pricing. Skoda believes that local production of EVs results in a cheap sticker price. Finding a market with a high volume and sufficient revenues to cover the first expenditure is crucial for any company looking to begin producing EVs and related parts locally.

Skoda will enter the Indian EV market with the Enyaq and Elroq EVs, however there are currently no affordable, locally produced EVs available in Indian markets. The CBU will initially be used to market both electric vehicles nationwide; however, local assembly may be implemented later, contingent on demand. The Enyaq debuted in India at the 2024 Bharat Mobility Global Expo. On the other hand, the little electric SUV Elroq recently made its global debut.

A base-level version of the brand’s born-electric MEB platform, designed specifically for EVs with front-wheel drive, will power the 4.1-meter-long electric car. Though nothing has been confirmed as of yet, there are rumors that the Czech automaker may bring an inexpensive Epiq EV to India.
