Switch Mobility has secured an order for 840 electric buses from Antony Road Transport Solutions under the Government of India’s PM E-Drive Scheme Phase I tender. The buses will be deployed in Delhi as part of the city’s public transportation system.
The order comprises 420 9-metre and 420 12-metre air-conditioned electric buses. These buses will be deployed by the Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) and the Transport Department, Delhi, for passenger transportation across the national capital.
The deployment agreement has been signed between Switch Mobility and Antony Road Transport Solutions. Antony Road Transport Solutions has been selected as the operator for Delhi under the Convergence Energy Services Limited (CESL) PM E-Drive Scheme Phase I tender.
According to Switch Mobility, the deployment is expected to support the electrification of public transportation in Delhi. The mix of 9-metre and 12-metre buses will also enable operators to address different passenger mobility requirements across the city.
The 9-metre and 12-metre electric buses are based on Switch Mobility’s EiV platform. The platform incorporates modular battery configurations, advanced electric powertrains and regenerative braking. The buses also support dual-gun fast charging, which is designed to enable quicker turnaround and higher fleet utilisation.
The electric buses are equipped with Switch iON, the company’s connected fleet management platform. It provides real-time vehicle monitoring, diagnostics and fleet management capabilities to support operational reliability and efficiency. Ganesh Mani, CEO of Switch Mobility, said the company is partnering with Antony Road Transport Solutions for the deployment of the 840 electric buses across Delhi.
