Tata Motors reveals Ultra EV 7M with 160km range at Prawaas 4.0 sustainable mobility expo

The company revealed the all-new Tata Ultra EV 7M, a zero-emission, intra-city electric bus planned and plotted to befit the demands for urban mass mobility. The 21-seater Ultra EV 7M, charged by a 213kW electric motor and IP67-rated 200kWh Li-ion battery, has affirmed a range of up to 160 km in a single charge and approaches with quick charging potential, allowing a full charge in two-and-half hours. According to the company, the easy-to-manoeuvre Ultra EV 7M is planned to intercept slight lanes and high-traffic urban outlooks.

Modern safety features like electronic stability control and electronic braking are added to the all-electric drivetrain. The bus has an Intelligent Transport System (ITS) and an Automatic Passenger Counter, both of which meet strict safety and security requirements. Regenerative braking is another feature that the Ultra EV 7M has, which increases both its efficiency and range.

Mentioning the revealing, Anand S, Vice President and Head – Commercial Passenger Vehicle Business, Tata Motors, said, “Our vision is ideally aligned with Prawaas 4.0’s theme of safe, smart, and sustainable mobility. We are pleased to showcase a variety of exhibits that provide specific solutions in their corresponding markets, such as our most recent entry into the electric bus market, the Ultra EV 7M. This brand-new model meets the specific needs of our clients and is ideal for both bigger and smaller areas. Our involvement in Prawaas 4.0 demonstrates our commitment to offer our clients cutting-edge, cost-effective, and environmentally friendly mobility solutions that maximize their earning potential.”

Clean and sustainable solutions are available for a variety of powertrains and emission technologies in Tata Motors’ CV portfolio. The company is the industry leader in the electric bus segment, having deployed over 2,900 e-buses throughout India, covering over 16 crore kilometers in total. Additionally, it is advancing domestic hydrogen fuel cell transportation options.

Tata Motors’ expansion goal is to provide operators with greater profitability and lower operating costs by offering a wide choice of vehicles powered by alternative fuels. Fleet Edge, a connected vehicle platform that uses smart technologies to enhance fleet management, vehicle uptime, and safety, is a new addition to the company’s CV portfolio.

Tata Motors has also presented various passenger transport options at Prawaas 4.0, such as the Magna EV, Magic Bi-fuel, Ultra Prime CNG, Winger 9S, CityRide Prime, and LPO 1822. These solutions are all designed to provide customized options in a variety of duty cycles and applications.
