Tata Motors has upgraded its famous electric SUV, the Tata Nexon.ev, with a sequence of advancements planned to sustain its ambitious margin in the quickly developing Indian EV market. These switches involve the launch of a larger 45 kWh battery pack, an enhanced extent, and a presenter of new characteristics, further reinforcing its place in the electric vehicle segment.

The Nexon.ev now comes in two distinct battery configurations: a larger 45 kWh battery pack for the Long Range variant and a 40 kWh battery pack for the Medium Range variant, which continues from the previous model. The 45 kWh battery in the Nexon EV Long Range variant is a 4.5 kWh upgrade over the previous model’s 40 kWh pack. This increase in battery capacity has also boosted the ARAI-certified range, which now stands at 489 km, up from the previous 465 km. In real-world conditions, Tata Motors claims the Long Range Nexon.ev can deliver between 350 and 370 km on a full charge. The front-wheel-drive e-motor generates 143 bhp and 215 Nm of torque.

The new 45 kWh battery supports fast charging, allowing it to charge from 10 to 80 per cent in approximately 40 minutes using a 60 kW DC fast charger. The smaller 30 kWh battery variant, which powers the Medium Range model, remains unchanged and continues to offer 127 bhp with its motor.

The Tata Nexon.ev is already known for its high-end features, and these have been retained in the latest version. Key features include a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless connectivity for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, a 9-speaker JBL sound system, wireless phone charging, ventilated front seats and cruise control.

In terms of safety, the Nexon.ev comes with a comprehensive set of safety features. These include 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, front and rear parking sensors, a 360-degree camera system, Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and an Electronic Parking Brake (EPB) with auto-hold functionality.
