At the 2025 Advanced Clean Transportation (ACT) Expo in Anaheim, California, TECO Electric & Machinery Co., Ltd. made a significant debut by showcasing its latest electric vehicle (EV) powertrain and charging technologies. This marks a pivotal step for the Taiwanese company as it expands its footprint in the global e-mobility sector, aligning with its commitment to energy conservation and emissions reduction.
A highlight of TECO’s presentation was the announcement of a substantial order for 55,000 EV powertrains destined for the Indian market. This order encompasses 5,000 units for 9- and 12-meter electric buses and 50,000 units for commercial vehicles. Deliveries are slated to commence in early 2025, with completion expected within three years. This development underscores TECO’s strategic move to support India’s ambitious goal of full electrification of public and commercial vehicles by 2030.
TECO’s Indian subsidiary, TEMICO, established in collaboration with Mitsui in Bangalore in November 2023, is central to this initiative. Having received the necessary ‘Bureau of Indian Standards’ certification, TEMICO is poised to begin mass production, positioning TECO as a key player in India’s evolving EV landscape.
Beyond powertrains, TECO introduced its latest advancements in EV charging solutions at the expo. These innovations are designed to enhance charging efficiency and support larger battery capacities, addressing the growing demand for faster and more reliable EV charging infrastructure. Such developments are crucial as the transportation industry shifts towards sustainable energy solutions.
TECO’s participation in ACT Expo 2025 not only highlights its technological advancements but also its commitment to global sustainability goals. By integrating advanced powertrain and charging solutions, TECO aims to contribute significantly to the reduction of carbon emissions in the transportation sector, reinforcing its role as a leader in the global transition to electric mobility.
