The Japanese EV charging solutions supplier Terra Charge has installed the first public EV charging station in Ghaziabad, a city in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. The new website lists 71 chargers. Ghaziabad is a part of the National Capital Region (NCR), which also includes districts from nearby states and Delhi. Terra Charge has thoughtfully positioned the new EV charging station on the Delhi-Meerut Highway.

With the new EV charging point, 72 EVs may charge simultaneously. However, it seems that Terra Charge primarily meant it to hold electric two- and three-wheelers. Seventy chargers provide a meagre 3.3 kW of alternating power. The remaining unit is a 60 kW DC charger for electric vehicles with a CCS2 charging port.

Terra Charge invested 50,000,000 rupees, or about 545,000 euros, in its new EV charging station in Ghaziabad. During the hub’s opening, Terra Charge India CEO Akihito Ueda said, “Our new hub in Ghaziabad is one of the largest public EV charging stations in India.” “We have chosen to keep our charging hub open to both public and commercial fleets in order to meet the charging requirements of the region and enable widespread adoption.”

Throughout India, Terra Charge operates 50 EV charging stations with more than 400 charge ports, including the freshly inaugurated Ghaziabad location. The corporation is exploring partner ventures as a means of expanding its activities within India.
