Toyota is preparing to launch an exciting new electric vehicle (EV) soon, promising a sleek and innovative design that will expand its growing EV portfolio. The company released a teaser showcasing the upcoming model, which is set to surprise and excite customers with its advanced features and design elements.

Distinctive Design Features

The teaser reveals the new EV’s crossover coupe-like design, highlighted by a smooth hood line and a rear lightbar. The vehicle’s front face features Toyota’s new “hammerhead” look, reminiscent of the 2025 Camry, setting the tone for a modern and striking appearance. Despite its compact size, Toyota claims the vehicle offers surprising interior space and versatility, suggesting it may be a crossover SUV.

Potential Specifications and Features

The new model is likely to be based on the 2022 bZ Compact Crossover and will join Toyota’s electric vehicle lineup in Europe, alongside the bZ4X and Urban Cruiser SUVs. While specific details are still under wraps, the vehicle is expected to offer battery options of 49 kWh and 61 kWh, similar to the recently released Urban Cruiser. Additionally, it may feature dual 10.25-inch infotainment and driver displays.

Expected Launch and Market Availability

Toyota is set to officially reveal the electric crossover on March 12. Although the company has not yet confirmed the specific markets for its launch, there are hopes that the new EV will be available in the U.S. following the completion of Toyota’s new $14 billion EV battery plant, scheduled to begin production in April.

Moving Away from bZ Nomenclature

In recent reports, Toyota has hinted at moving away from the “bZ” naming convention for future electric models, potentially paving the way for the introduction of an electric RAV4. This move reflects Toyota’s evolving strategy in the electric vehicle market, with the upcoming model expected to play a significant role in its global EV plans.
