Trinasolar has introduced its latest photovoltaic (PV) modules and battery energy storage solutions at an event in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The launch features the Vertex N G3 TOPCon 3.0 solar modules, offering power output of up to 760W, alongside Trina Storage’s 6.25MWh Elementa 3 battery energy storage system (BESS). The products expand the company’s solar and storage portfolio in Vietnam as industrial growth and artificial intelligence data centres increase electricity demand.

According to the International Energy Agency (IEA), global data centre electricity consumption is projected to rise from approximately 485 TWh in 2025 to 950 TWh by 2030. Vietnam is also pursuing the development of AI data centres and hyperscale data centres by 2030. These developments are increasing the importance of reliable electricity supplies and flexible energy storage solutions to support growing power requirements.

The Vertex N G3 modules are based on Trinasolar’s TOPCon 3.0 cell technology and incorporate four key technological upgrades. Ultra cell platform technology is designed to increase power output and bifacial performance, while multi-cut and edge passivation technologies help reduce current losses and improve performance under shading and hot-spot conditions. Ultra-high-density packaging technology further supports module efficiency and energy yield.

The solar modules feature a bifaciality rating of 85% ± 5%, allowing them to generate additional electricity from sunlight reaching their rear surfaces under suitable conditions. Their power temperature coefficient of −0.26%/°C helps limit output losses as operating temperatures increase. Trinasolar specifies maximum annual power degradation of 0.35% from the second year onward and provides a 30-year power warranty for the modules.

Alongside the solar products, Trina Storage presented the Elementa 3 utility-scale BESS, which offers 6.25MWh of energy storage capacity using the company’s in-house-developed 587Ah battery cells. The system is designed to support renewable energy integration and flexible power supply, including in grid-connected applications. Its introduction alongside the Vertex N G3 modules expands Trinasolar’s product offering for utility-scale solar and energy storage projects.

Trinasolar also highlighted its solar-plus-storage project at Corona Resort on Phú Quốc Island, Vietnam. The project combines a 3MWp solar PV installation with a 10MWh AC-coupled battery energy storage system retrofit. In its separate project announcement, Trinasolar identified the storage system used at Corona Resort as Elementa 2, distinguishing it from the newly presented Elementa 3. The project demonstrates how battery storage can be integrated with commercial solar generation to support renewable energy utilisation and power supply flexibility.
