Trontek, a well-known Indian lithium-ion battery manufacturer, has officially entered the residential energy storage segment with the launch of its new Powercube series of home battery systems. The move marks a strategic shift for the company from primarily serving electric mobility and industrial applications to providing direct-to-home energy solutions for households across the country.

The newly launched Powercube range includes 1.4 kWh and 2.7 kWh lithium-ion battery storage systems, both designed to offer reliable backup power for grid outages and hybrid solar charging applications. These systems are aimed at Indian households, small businesses and rooftop solar users where energy security and efficiency are paramount.

Trontek is offering the Powercube series in Standard and Premium variants. Standard models include basic state-of-charge (SOC) indicators, while the Premium versions feature LED status displays for improved user visibility and monitoring. Both capacity options are built to deliver long-life performance and are engineered for multi-year reliability.

The Powercube systems employ lithium ferro phosphate (LiFePO₄) chemistry, known for its safety, thermal stability and extended lifecycle of over 4,000 charge cycles, making the products more durable and efficient than conventional lead-acid alternatives. Additionally, round-trip efficiency exceeds 90 per cent, reducing energy losses during charging and discharging.

Samrath S. Kochar, Founder and CEO of Trontek, said the company sees home battery storage as a core component of India’s evolving energy landscape, driven by expanding rooftop solar adoption and growing residential demand for resilient power solutions. Trontek plans to support distribution through its authorised network and consumer awareness programmes to educate users about lithium-ion storage benefits.

Industry analysts note that Trontek’s entry into the residential segment signifies a broader trend of battery makers expanding beyond EV and industrial markets into distributed clean energy systems, where demand for efficient, safe, and long-lasting home storage solutions is growing rapidly. As solar-power penetration increases, integrated storage like Powercube is expected to play a vital role in enhancing energy independence for Indian households.
