TVS Motor Company has tied up with ALT Mobility to deploy 3,000 electric three-wheelers across India this year. The move is aimed at strengthening clean last-mile connectivity while offering drivers an affordable shift from petrol and diesel autos to EVs.

As part of the deal, TVS will build and supply the vehicles, drawing on its established manufacturing setup. ALT Mobility, on the other hand, will make the transition easier by offering flexible leasing and “drive-to-own” models, allowing drivers to pay gradually instead of shelling out a heavy upfront cost.

Distribution will be handled through a mix of TVS dealerships and ALT Mobility outlets. This hybrid approach ensures that the e-three-wheelers reach both big city operators and smaller towns, expanding access to sustainable mobility solutions beyond metros.

Affordability and scale are at the core of the collaboration. By combining ALT’s financing tools with TVS’s engineering strength, the project lowers the biggest barrier to EV adoption — high purchase price — while giving operators the benefit of cheaper running costs.

TVS Motor executives said the partnership reflects their commitment to eco-friendly transport. They believe that swapping thousands of fuel-burning autos with electric ones will not only cut carbon emissions but also improve urban air quality and reduce operating costs for drivers.

For ALT Mobility, the tie-up is a chance to prove that innovative leasing models can drive large-scale adoption of EVs. The company plans to replicate this approach across other categories too, making sustainable transport more mainstream and financially viable for everyday users.
