Vikram Solar energy storage division PowerHive has launched its new VION lithium battery range, marking the company’s entry into distributed battery storage solutions for electric mobility and residential power backup. The move reflects the company’s strategy to expand beyond solar manufacturing into integrated clean energy solutions.
The VION portfolio is designed to deliver high-performance energy storage for households, small businesses, and electric mobility applications. The initial lineup includes five products across three categories, including inverter batteries, integrated inverter-battery systems, and batteries designed for e-rickshaws.
For residential applications, the lithium battery range offers capacities from 1.2 kWh to 15 kWh for home UPS and inverter backup systems. These batteries can provide backup power for several hours depending on usage and are capable of supporting high-load appliances during outages.
PowerHive has also introduced PowerStack 1.0, an integrated inverter-battery solution designed for compact residential installations. The system includes a built-in battery management system (BMS) to improve efficiency, safety, and performance while reducing maintenance needs.
For the electric mobility segment, the company has launched a 5 kWh lithium battery specifically for e-rickshaws using LiFePO4 prismatic cell technology. The battery complies with AIS-156 safety standards and is built to withstand heavy daily usage in commercial three-wheelers.
Vikram Solar leadership stated that the VION launch represents an important step in the company’s evolution toward becoming a complete clean-energy solutions provider. The company believes energy storage will play a crucial role in ensuring reliable and round-the-clock clean power as India accelerates its transition toward renewable energy.
