VinFast Auto has completed a major restructuring of its automotive portfolio into three distinct brand lines and simultaneously unveiled two new ultra-luxury electric vehicles, the Lac Hong 800S and Lac Hong 900S, company officials announced Tuesday. The move represents a strategic shift in how the Vietnamese electric-vehicle maker organizes its market offerings and highlights its ambition to compete at the highest tiers of the EV market.

Under the newly defined structure, VinFast has positioned Lac Hong as its ultra-luxury marque, sitting at the top of a three-tier brand hierarchy that also includes the VF series for mass-market passenger EVs and the Green brand focusing on commercial-oriented mobility solutions. The Lac Hong portfolio expands on the company’s earlier premium model, the 900 LX.

The Lac Hong 800S and 900S were officially introduced at the restructuring announcement, with both vehicles set for their commercial launch in 2027. VinFast says the designs draw inspiration from Vietnamese cultural elements, incorporating visual cues symbolizing resilience and national heritage in exterior motifs and emblem details.

Inside, both models are equipped with high-end materials and luxury features, including Nappa leather and rare wood trim. The 900S, positioned as the more exclusive of the two, adds amenities tailored for executive comfort such as a privacy partition, a starlight headliner and a fold-down workstation, signaling VinFast’s intent to appeal to discerning luxury buyers.

Performance specifications indicate that both the 800S and 900S can be configured with a tri-motor setup producing up to 460 kilowatts of power, complemented by advanced active suspension systems aimed at delivering dynamic ride quality and handling suited to premium expectations.

VinFast leadership described the brand restructuring as laying the foundation for the company’s next phase of growth. By clarifying the roles of its brands and broadening its product depth from commercial EVs to mass-market and high-end luxury segments, the automaker aims to strengthen its competitive position domestically and internationally.
