Vietnamese electric vehicle manufacturer VinFast has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with PlusX Electric to strengthen electric vehicle charging infrastructure and roadside support services across the United Arab Emirates. The agreement aims to enhance the overall EV ownership experience as VinFast expands its footprint in the region.
Under the proposed collaboration, the companies plan to deploy additional EV charging solutions across residential, commercial and fleet segments. The partnership will focus on improving accessibility and convenience for EV users through a mix of fixed and flexible charging options.
A key component of the initiative includes the rollout of portable EV charging pods and pilot programs for on-demand mobile charging services. These services are expected to assist drivers facing low battery situations and help reduce range anxiety, a common concern among EV owners.
The companies are also exploring the integration of emergency roadside charging assistance to provide timely support to customers. Such services are intended to improve reliability and ensure uninterrupted mobility for EV users throughout the country.
In addition, the partnership may include the supply and installation of home and workplace charging units, subject to regulatory compliance. Fleet-focused solutions, including leasing models for high-speed DC chargers and mobile charging systems, are also being evaluated to support commercial operators.
Executives from both companies said the collaboration reflects a shared commitment to accelerating electric mobility adoption in the UAE. By combining vehicle offerings with expanded charging and support infrastructure, the two firms aim to contribute to the country’s broader sustainability and clean transportation goals.
