Waaree Renewable Technologies has secured a Letter of Award (LOA) for an Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) project covering a 291 MWp ground-mounted solar photovoltaic (PV) project along with a 280 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS). The company received the award on August 28, 2026.
The order has been awarded by one of India’s thermal power generating companies. According to the company’s regulatory disclosure, the project is classified as a domestic commercial order, with Waaree Renewable Technologies responsible for executing the EPC works for the solar PV and battery storage components.
The project combines 291 MWp of solar generation capacity with 280 MWh of battery energy storage. The integrated solar-plus-storage setup brings renewable power generation and energy storage into a single project, reflecting the increasing role of BESS in large-scale clean energy infrastructure.
As per the terms of the order, the project is scheduled to be completed during FY 2027-28. The company’s filing specifies the size of the order through the solar and storage capacities, while the financial value of the contract has not been disclosed.
Waaree Renewable Technologies has also confirmed that its promoter, promoter group and group companies have no interest in the entity awarding the order. The company has further stated that the contract does not fall under related-party transactions.
The latest EPC award strengthens Waaree Renewable Technologies’ presence in the large-scale solar and energy storage segment. With a 291 MWp solar PV project paired with 280 MWh of BESS, the order adds another significant solar-plus-storage project to the company’s portfolio as India continues to expand renewable energy and storage infrastructure.
