ZF Group is expanding its Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) technology deployment in India through a new agreement with an electric commercial vehicle manufacturer. The initiative focuses on improving safety in electric buses and other commercial EV platforms as part of the country’s push toward smarter mobility.
ZF Commercial Vehicle Control Systems India will supply its ADAS suite designed to meet upcoming Indian safety regulations. The technology will be integrated into multiple commercial electric vehicles including buses, coaches, and heavy-duty trucks to improve active safety performance.
The ADAS package is based on ZF’s OnGuardMAX platform along with short-range radar technology and intelligent sensing systems. These technologies help detect vehicles, pedestrians, and cyclists while providing real-time alerts to drivers to reduce collision risks.
Key safety features of the system include Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), Blind Spot Information System, Driver Drowsiness Alert, Lane Departure Warning, and Moving-Off Information System. These functions are designed to assist drivers and improve situational awareness in busy traffic environments.
ZF stated that its ADAS solutions have been validated on Indian roads to ensure performance in real driving conditions. The technology is also developed to support future safety requirements and automation needs in the commercial vehicle sector.
As electric buses continue to gain momentum in India’s public transport sector, advanced safety systems like ADAS are expected to play an important role in improving road safety. ZF continues to focus on innovation in electrification, automation, and intelligent safety technologies for commercial EVs.
