Zypp Electric, an Indian electric vehicle rental platform focused on last-mile delivery, has rapidly expanded its operations in Jaipur and Hyderabad, deploying 1,000 electric vehicles across the two cities within just one month of launching there. The quick growth highlights rising interest in electric mobility and the increasing shift toward sustainable delivery solutions beyond major metropolitan areas.

The company’s recent rollout marks its first foray into Jaipur, which represents its entry into a tier-2 city, while also strengthening its presence in Hyderabad. Prior to this, Zypp Electric had concentrated most of its fleet in larger urban markets such as Delhi, Bengaluru and Mumbai.

To support the surge in vehicles and partners, Zypp Electric has established two operational hubs — one each in Jaipur and Hyderabad — spanning more than 5,000 square feet. These facilities are designed for vehicle maintenance, battery swapping and onboarding delivery partners serving e-commerce, food delivery and quick commerce services.

The company operates a rental model for delivery partners, enabling gig economy workers to use EVs without heavy upfront costs. According to reports, partner earnings through the platform can be competitive, while riders benefit from lower fuel and maintenance costs compared to traditional petrol-powered vehicles.

Zypp Electric has also set ambitious expansion plans for the coming financial year, aiming to grow its fleet in these cities further — with targets that include 10,000 EVs in Hyderabad and 5,000 EVs in Jaipur — and eventually scale to more than 100,000 electric vehicles across 25 Indian cities by 2030.

The rapid deployment in new markets reflects the broader trend of electric vehicle adoption in India’s logistics sector, supported by stronger infrastructure and increasing demand for cleaner, cost-effective delivery solutions.
