Hyundai Motor America has introduced major updates to its MyHyundai with Bluelink app and charging tariff plans, designed to streamline public EV charging and reduce user friction.
The app now supports In-App Charging, enabling drivers of compatible models to locate, navigate to, and pay for public charging sessions directly eliminating the need for third-party charging apps or physical credit cards. Integrated payment is facilitated through Hyundai Pay.
In addition, Plug and Charge capability has been rolled out for the 2025 IONIQ 5 and upcoming 2026 IONIQ 9. Once activated in the app, charging begins automatically upon plugging in at compatible IONNA, Tesla Supercharger, or ChargePoint stations.
These upgrades also enhance route planning for EV road trips. Via the MyHyundai app or the vehicle’s infotainment screen, users can plan trips with suggested charging stops based on real-time availability, charger type, and battery level. Routes can be sent directly to the vehicle’s navigation system.
Hyundai’s charging expansion now includes access to Tesla’s Supercharger network using the NACS port on newer EVs. Owners of older models using CCS can receive a free adapter if purchased before January 31, 2025.
Although initially limited to the IONIQ 5 and IONIQ 9, Hyundai plans to roll out both In-App Charging and Plug and Charge across all future IONIQ and electric models—eventually bringing more charging networks into the fold.
