Tata Power has strengthened Kerala’s electric vehicle charging infrastructure by deploying the state’s first 120 kW public EV fast charger at Vivanta Aluva. The new facility is aimed at improving access to high-speed charging for EV users and supporting the growing adoption of electric mobility across the state.

The 120 kW DC fast charger features dual charging guns and two dedicated parking bays, allowing two electric vehicles to charge simultaneously. The installation is expected to offer a faster and more convenient charging experience, particularly for EV users travelling on key routes in and around Kochi.

Located at Vivanta Aluva, the charging station is strategically positioned to support travellers moving between Kochi, Thrissur and other parts of Kerala. The facility combines fast-charging infrastructure with a convenient hospitality location, enabling users to charge their EVs during their journey.

The new installation further expands Tata Power’s EZ Charge network in Kerala. As demand for electric vehicles continues to increase, the availability of reliable and strategically located fast-charging stations is becoming increasingly important for supporting long-distance and intercity EV travel.

EV users can access Tata Power’s charging network through the EZ Charge app, which provides features such as Auto Charge and Trip Planner. Tata Power currently operates more than 6,700 public and captive charging points, over 200,000 home chargers and more than 1,200 bus charging points across over 700 cities and towns in India.

Looking ahead, Tata Power plans to expand its EV charging ecosystem to 750,000 home chargers and 10,000 public charging points by 2030. The deployment of the 120 kW fast charger at Vivanta Aluva marks another step in strengthening Kerala’s public EV charging infrastructure and supporting the country’s transition towards cleaner mobility.
