BMW Group India has surpassed the 5,000 electric vehicle milestone, emerging as the first luxury automaker in the country to achieve this feat a testament to growing consumer trust and accelerating demand for premium EVs.
To mark this milestone, the company inaugurated an advanced high-power charging corridor spanning approximately 4,000 kilometres, extending from Jammu in the north to Madurai in the south.
The corridor features fast-charging stations placed at roughly 300-km intervals along key national highways and metropolitan routes including Delhi, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Pune, Hubballi, Bengaluru, Coimbatore, and Madurai aimed at easing range anxiety during long-distance travel.
Open to all EV brands, the network includes charging capacities ranging from 120 kW to 720 kW and is operated in partnership with providers like Statiq and Zeon.
Further bolstering the charging ecosystem, BMW now offers access to more than 6,000 public charging points across India through strategic partnerships, including nearly 300 BMW Destination Chargers at hotels, resorts, and malls all accessible via the myBMW app.
In the first half of 2025 (Jan–Jun), BMW and MINI recorded 1,322 EV deliveries a whopping 234% year-over-year growth pushing EVs to account for 18% of its overall sales. The iX1 Long Wheelbase emerged as the best-selling model, followed by the flagship i7.
