Waaree Transpower, a subsidiary of Waaree Energies, has secured an order worth approximately ₹160 crore from a global energy storage technology and solutions provider. The order covers the supply of 8.3 MVA Medium Voltage (MV) Skids for Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) applications, strengthening the company’s presence in the growing global energy storage market.
The order marks an important development for Waaree Transpower’s global business and export operations. The company is expanding its role in the electrical infrastructure segment supporting BESS projects, as demand for energy storage solutions continues to increase across renewable energy markets. The contract also adds to Waaree Transpower’s portfolio of equipment designed for large-scale energy storage applications.
The 8.3 MVA MV Skid is an IEC-standard compliant, plug-and-play and containerised solution developed specifically for BESS applications. The complete system is integrated into a 20-foot container, allowing the equipment to be transported and deployed more efficiently at different project locations. Its shippable and stackable configuration also provides flexibility for large-scale BESS installations.
According to the company, shipments under the order commenced in July 2026. The containerised design can help simplify transportation and installation by bringing key medium-voltage equipment together in a packaged solution. This makes such systems an important part of the electrical infrastructure required for connecting battery storage projects to power networks.
Commenting on the order, Viren Doshi, Director, Waaree Energies, said the contract is an important milestone as Waaree Transpower expands its presence in the global BESS ecosystem. He highlighted the company’s focus on engineering capability, standardisation and deployment flexibility to address the requirements of large-scale energy storage projects across international markets.
The order comes as Battery Energy Storage Systems gain importance in supporting renewable energy integration and grid flexibility. With increasing deployment of renewable power, storage infrastructure is becoming an important part of the broader energy transition. The ₹160 crore order therefore strengthens Waaree Transpower’s position in the BESS electrical-infrastructure segment while supporting its efforts to expand its global market presence.
