Yuma Energy has made its debut in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, with plans to construct a network of electric two and three wheelers battery switching stations over the following three years. The company hopes to expand into important Uttar Pradesh cities, including Lucknow, Varanasi, Ghaziabad, and Kanpur. As part of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Invest UP, Yuma Energy has pledged to investing ₹200 crore in the state to support this expansion. It is projected that this initiative will directly create 500 jobs and improve the lives of up to 100,000 people.
Currently, Yuma Energy replaces over 1.5 million batteries per month across India. The company’s battery switching services, which take only a minute to complete, will provide a quick alternative to traditional charging.
According to Muthu Subramanian, General Manager and Managing Director of Yuma Energy, Uttar Pradesh is a leader in e-mobility, particularly in the 3-wheeler industry, because of its favorable policy environment.
Prathamesh Kumar, Additional Chief Executive Officer of INVEST UP, commended Yuma Energy’s initiative and highlighted how it may support the state’s sustainable development goals and EV infrastructure. He focused on how INVEST UP assists companies in navigating regulatory frameworks to launch services more smoothly.
Subramanian further noted that in an area where EV adoption is speeding up, the Noida launch addresses the need for energy solutions. Yuma Energy’s Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) solution uses smart batteries and a networked system to improve vehicle longevity and safety. Making sure that batteries are readily available so that users may quickly replace them and get back to their activities is the aim of the efficient operations.
