BYD has introduced its advanced DM-i hybrid technology in India, expanding its electrified mobility offerings in one of the world’s fastest-growing automotive markets. The company says the technology is designed to combine the efficiency of electric driving with the convenience of extended range, addressing concerns related to long-distance travel.
The DM-i system integrates an electric motor, battery pack, and fuel-powered engine to deliver a balanced driving experience. According to the company, vehicles equipped with the DM-i platform can achieve a driving range of more than 1,200 kilometers on a full charge and fuel tank. BYD stated that the hybrid technology has been developed to improve energy efficiency while maintaining strong performance across urban and highway driving environments.
