Coca-Cola, along with its bottling partners, is advancing its green logistics initiative by expanding its nationwide electric truck fleet to more than 5,000 vehicles. This move underlines the company’s strong commitment to sustainable operations and environmental responsibility.
The company’s extensive delivery network spanning urban centers and remote rural areas relies on thousands of drivers. By increasing its electric vehicle capacity, Coca-Cola aims to strengthen operational efficiency while simultaneously enhancing job security for its workforce.
Superior Drinks Pvt. Ltd., a prominent bottler in the Coca-Cola system, has already bolstered its fleet with nearly 200 modern EVs this year, significantly improving its distribution reach and reliability.
SLMG Beverages has notably integrated over 3,000 electric vehicles into its distribution operations over the past three years, and Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages (HCCB) has deployed around 500 EVs across 10 states collectively driving significant logistics upgrades across regions.
Beyond fleet expansion, Coca-Cola is investing in driver welfare through a comprehensive program that includes annual road safety training, regular medical and vision check-ups, and stress-management workshops. Vehicles are routinely assessed to meet high operational standards.
Sundeep Bajoria, Vice President of Coca-Cola India, emphasized the company’s evolution in logistics: “As we scale our capabilities, we remain equally focused on enabling the people who power this network with safety, skill-building, and support.” Other leaders echoed this vision, highlighting their collective strategy to combine technology, efficiency, and social responsibility across India’s beverage supply chain.
