Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has partnered with Emirates National Oil Company (ENOC) to enhance the city’s electric vehicle charging network. This collaboration aims to support Dubai’s sustainability goals by increasing the availability of fast-charging stations across the emirate.

The agreement was formalized during the 27th edition of the Water, Energy, Technology, and Environment Exhibition (WETEX 2025), held from September 30 to October 2 at the Dubai World Trade Centre. The signing ceremony was attended by HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Managing Director and CEO of DEWA, and Hussain Sultan Lootah, Acting Group CEO of ENOC. The contract was signed by Waleed bin Salman, Executive Vice President of Business Development and Excellence at DEWA, and Zaid Alqufaidi, Managing Director of ENOC Retail.

This partnership is part of DEWA’s EV Green Charger Initiative, launched in 2014, which has already established over 1,500 charging points across Dubai. The collaboration with ENOC will further expand the network, providing EV drivers with more convenient and accessible charging options.

HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer emphasized that this initiative aligns with Dubai’s Clean Energy Strategy 2050 and Net Zero Carbon Emissions Strategy 2050. He highlighted the importance of developing an integrated infrastructure for electric vehicle charging to reduce carbon emissions and promote sustainable mobility in the city.

Hussain Sultan Lootah expressed ENOC’s commitment to advancing Dubai’s sustainability agenda through this partnership. He noted that expanding the fast-charging network at ENOC service stations will meet the evolving needs of customers and contribute to the nation’s sustainable development objectives.

The DEWA-ENOC collaboration underscores Dubai’s position as a regional leader in clean energy and electric mobility. By enhancing the EV charging infrastructure, the city aims to accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles and reduce its carbon footprint, supporting the UAE’s long-term climate objectives.
