AET: EVeium Smart Mobility has emerged as a Made-in-India brand focused on genuine sustainability and innovation in electric two-wheelers. What inspired you to establish EVeium, and how has the journey evolved since its inception in 2022?

Sameer: The idea behind EVeium was born from a deep conviction that India’s transition to clean mobility must be both accessible and authentically sustainable. Having worked for years in industrial and technology sectors, I recognised the gap between aspiration and execution in the EV space, where many products were imported or lacked long-term durability. EVeium was created to bridge that gap by building electric two-wheelers entirely suited to Indian conditions while supporting the national vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat. Since 2022, our journey has been both challenging and rewarding. We have developed a diverse range of scooters and motorcycles integrating smart battery technology, safety-focused designs, and reliable performance. Through strong dealer partnerships and strategic collaborations like the one with SunEdge, we have expanded our reach across India. Each milestone reinforces our mission to make clean, intelligent, and future-ready mobility a practical reality for every commuter.

AET: India’s EV two-wheeler market is witnessing intense competition with both legacy and emerging brands vying for attention. How does EVeium differentiate itself—technologically and strategically—from other players in this rapidly growing space?

Sameer: We have built EVeium to offer more than a commodity scooter and to demonstrate that a Made in India brand can lead in real sustainability, durability, and rider-focused technology. We focus on practical innovations such as smart battery systems with swappable lithium-ion packs, regenerative braking, brushless DC hub motors, hydraulic disc brakes, multiple speed modes, reverse gear, and keyless start to deliver performance and convenience comparable to premium alternatives. We are strategically enhancing localisation of components to reduce production costs, improve quality control, and support India’s Aatmanirbhar Bharat objectives, backed by a strong dealer network across Hyderabad, Kozhikode, Bengaluru, Mangalore, Malegaon, Solapur, Rajahmundry, Pune, and Surat to ensure reliable after-sales support. We are relaunching Cosmo, Comet, and Czar with upgraded styling and features while offering motorcycles like Enervio and Voltura to cater to diverse commuter needs, keeping EVeium affordable, safe, and future ready.

AET: EVeium’s product range—Cosmo, Comet, Czar, Enervio, and Voltura—reflects a strong focus on performance, safety, and sustainability. Could you elaborate on the technology and design philosophy that drives the development of these models?

Sameer: We design every EVeium model with a clear focus on performance, safety, and long-term sustainability, blending technology and user-centric engineering. Our scooters and motorcycles feature smart battery architecture with swappable lithium-ion packs to ensure convenience and consistent range, complemented by regenerative braking for energy efficiency. We integrate brushless DC hub motors and hydraulic disc brakes to deliver reliable performance and precise control, while multiple speed modes, reverse gear, and keyless start enhance usability for urban commuters. Beyond mechanics, our design philosophy prioritizes durability, comfort, and rider safety, using high-quality materials and ergonomic layouts that support everyday usability. We continually incorporate feedback from our dealer network and customers to refine styling and functionality, ensuring that models like Cosmo, Comet, Czar, Enervio, and Voltura are not only technologically advanced but also practical, safe, and sustainable solutions that accelerate adoption of electric mobility in India.

AET: EVeium’s partnership with SunEdge and plans to deliver 10,000 scooters across India highlight a focus on collaboration and scale. How do such strategic partnerships contribute to strengthening India’s electric mobility ecosystem?

Sameer: We view strategic partnerships as critical to scaling electric mobility in India, combining technological expertise with distribution strength. Collaborating with partners like SunEdge allows us to leverage their established networks to ensure our scooters reach more cities efficiently while maintaining strong after-sales support. Such alliances accelerate adoption, making high-quality, safe, and sustainable electric vehicles more accessible to everyday commuters. Partnerships also create opportunities for knowledge sharing, operational efficiencies, and faster market penetration, which strengthens the overall EV ecosystem. Working together enables alignment on sustainability objectives, promotes standardisation, and increases consumer confidence in electric two-wheelers. Notably, these collaborations support India’s transition toward cleaner transportation, driving production scale, reducing costs, and ensuring that innovative, rider-focused solutions like our Cosmo, Comet, Czar, Enervio, and Voltura reach a wider audience without compromising performance or quality.

AET: With a growing dealership network across Tier-1 and Tier-2 cities, how is EVeium ensuring accessibility, after-sales support, and customer confidence in adopting electric mobility solutions?

Sameer: We ensure accessibility and customer confidence by building a strong dealership network across both Tier-1 and Tier-2 cities, making our scooters and motorcycles available where commuters need them most. Each dealer is trained to provide comprehensive guidance, maintenance services, and prompt after-sales support, which helps customers feel assured about reliability and performance. We also focus on educating buyers about the benefits of electric mobility, smart battery usage, and safety features to foster trust and informed adoption. Localisation of components allows us to reduce turnaround times for repairs and updates, ensuring consistent service quality. Coupled with practical innovations in our models like swappable batteries, regenerative braking, multiple speed modes, and ergonomic design, these measures create a seamless ownership experience. This approach not only enhances convenience but also strengthens confidence in EVeium as a brand that delivers safe, sustainable, and future-ready electric mobility solutions across India.

AET: As the Indian government pushes for cleaner and smarter transportation alternatives, what role do you envision for brands like EVeium in accelerating the nation’s transition to sustainable mobility over the next five years?

Sameer: We see EVeium playing a key role in India’s shift towards sustainable mobility. Over the next five years, our focus is on expanding our range of electric two-wheelers with smart features like swappable lithium-ion batteries, regenerative braking, and rider-centric design that ensure performance, safety, and convenience. We are growing our dealer network across both urban and semi-urban areas to make our vehicles accessible and to provide dependable after-sales support, which builds confidence among customers. Increasing localisation helps us lower costs, improve quality, and support India’s self-reliance goals, making EV ownership more attainable for everyone. Through partnerships and ongoing customer education, we aim to make electric mobility a practical and trusted choice. What we want to show is that a Made-in-India brand can lead in sustainability, durability, and technology, and play a real part in creating cleaner, smarter, and future-ready transportation for the country.
