Exponent Energy today unveiled its next-generation P4 charging station, boasting a compact “wall-like” profile just 400 mm wide that runs lengthwise alongside parked vehicles. This smart design addresses space constraints in densely populated urban areas and marks a significant leap forward in EV infrastructure.
The P4 model introduces a custom three-axis cable management system that makes heavy charging cables practically weightless to the user. The cable floats and retracts automatically, easing connection and reducing clutter around charging spots.
Exponent’s latest innovation builds upon its pioneering offboard battery cooling technology, first introduced in 2023. The P4 adds offboard battery heating capable of pre-warming or cooling the vehicle’s battery ensuring reliable and rapid charging in diverse weather conditions.
The station delivers up to 40 kW of power and is already being deployed across cities in India. Key OEM partners, including Murugappa Group’s Montra Electric and Omega Seiki Mobility, are deploying these stations to accelerate the adoption of rapid charging across both passenger and commercial EV segments.
Exponent Energy positions itself as a full-stack player in the EV ecosystem, developing battery packs, chargers, and connectors that enable 15-minute full charges for vehicles of any size. The P4 is the result of field insights gained from earlier MVP charger versions and showcases an engineering approach rooted in design thinking and real-world usage.
The P4 charging experience is complemented by a mobile app that offers real-time data on charger location and availability. Users can charge with ease through monthly passes—no keycards or manual payments required—underscoring Exponent’s vision of “360-degree simplified energy experience.”
