GAC Commercial Vehicle has made its debut at IAA TRANSPORTATION 2026 in Hannover, Germany, under the theme “Delivering the Future Together.” The company showcased its new-energy heavy and light commercial vehicle technologies, including autonomous driving, battery swapping, and new light commercial vehicle solutions. Its global ecosystem partners Pony.ai and Aulton also joined the company in presenting new commercial mobility technologies.
One of the key highlights was the GAC T9 Robotruck, developed in collaboration with Pony.ai. The electric heavy-duty truck combines Pony.ai’s fourth-generation autonomous driving technology with GAC Commercial Vehicle’s fully redundant drive-by-wire chassis. Its automotive-grade sensing system includes nine LiDAR sensors, three radars, and 13 cameras. Compared with the previous generation, the hardware cost is 70% lower, while autonomous-driving transportation cost per ton-kilometer is approximately 30% lower.
GAC Commercial Vehicle also showcased the T9 Battery Swap EV Tractor. The electric tractor is equipped with a 603 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery and offers a range of up to 475 km. Its combined energy consumption is as low as 1.2 kWh per kilometre. With Aulton’s battery-swapping system, the complete vehicle battery can be replaced in approximately three to five minutes, helping reduce downtime for fixed-route and high-frequency commercial operations.
The company also used IAA TRANSPORTATION 2026 to introduce its light commercial vehicle brand MONTX to overseas markets. The brand displayed the P10 and V10 concept vehicles, along with its All-Domain Adaptive Architecture (ADAA). The P10 is designed for outdoor and challenging-terrain applications, while the V10 is positioned as a mobile platform for work, travel, and everyday activities. MONTX also introduced MONTX Makers, a global user co-creation initiative focused on incorporating user requirements into future product development.
Alongside the concept vehicles, MONTX displayed the production SMILODON Pro pickup. The model is already available in Central and South America and the Middle East, while the company plans to make it available in around 30 countries by the end of 2026. GAC Commercial Vehicle also highlighted its All-Domain Adaptive Architecture, which is designed to support different energy types, vehicle forms, and applications through a common architecture.
GAC Commercial Vehicle is using the IAA TRANSPORTATION debut to support its international expansion. The company reported a 205% year-on-year increase in sales during the first half of 2026 and is leveraging GAC Group’s sales and service network covering 110 countries and regions. With nearly two decades of commercial vehicle experience developed through its long-standing GAC Hino joint venture, the company plans to expand both its commercial vehicle products and partner ecosystem into international markets.
