Generational, a UK-based electric vehicle (EV) battery diagnostics specialist, has entered into a strategic partnership with Maverick Diagnostics to expand EV battery health testing services across thousands of automotive workshops throughout the United Kingdom. The collaboration is aimed at improving access to reliable battery diagnostics and increasing confidence in the growing used EV market.
Under the agreement, Generational will provide its advanced battery testing kits, software platform, and digital tools used to generate State of Health (SoH) reports and customer-facing battery health certificates. Meanwhile, Maverick Diagnostics will lead the promotion of the technology while offering technical guidance and training to automotive workshops adopting the solution.
The partnership is expected to bring EV battery health testing to nearly 6,000 workshops supported by Maverick Diagnostics across the UK. This wider availability will allow independent garages to include battery diagnostics as part of their regular vehicle servicing, inspections, and maintenance offerings, helping customers better understand the condition of their EV batteries.
With the UK’s used electric vehicle market expanding rapidly, battery health has become a key factor affecting vehicle performance, resale value, and buyer confidence. By making certified battery assessments more accessible, the partnership aims to provide motorists with transparent and trusted information before purchasing, selling, or servicing an electric vehicle.
The companies also encourage EV owners to include battery condition checks during annual servicing, MOT inspections, pre-purchase evaluations, and before selling their vehicles.
