Battery-swapping solutions provider Indofast Energy has entered into a strategic partnership with Zeon Charging to strengthen electric vehicle battery-swapping infrastructure across South India. The collaboration aims to improve access to fast and convenient battery-swapping services at premium, high-footfall locations, supporting the growing adoption of commercial electric vehicles in the region.

Under the agreement, Indofast Energy will install its Quick Interchange Stations (QIS) at Zeon Charging’s existing EV charging locations. The deployment will initially focus on key cities including Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Chennai, with stations planned at premium malls, metro parking facilities, commercial hubs, and other strategically located sites to serve fleet operators and delivery riders.

The partnership is designed to create a seamless charging ecosystem by combining conventional EV charging with battery-swapping infrastructure. This integrated approach is expected to reduce vehicle downtime, improve operational efficiency for commercial EV users, and support businesses that depend on quick vehicle turnaround times for daily operations.

The rollout has already begun in Bengaluru, where the first battery-swapping stations are being established at premium commercial locations. Following the initial phase, both companies intend to expand the network across additional cities in Southern India, making battery-swapping more accessible for electric two- and three-wheelers operating in urban markets.

Indofast Energy currently operates an extensive battery-swapping network across India, with more than 1,900 swap stations in 24 cities, supporting over 120,000 electric vehicles. The company also maintains a strong presence in Bengaluru with more than 450 battery-swapping stations, making the city a key hub for its expansion strategy.

The latest collaboration reflects the increasing focus on building robust EV infrastructure to accelerate clean mobility in India. By leveraging Zeon Charging’s established charging network and Indofast Energy’s battery-swapping technology, the companies aim to provide a reliable energy ecosystem that enhances convenience for commercial EV users while supporting the country’s transition toward sustainable transportation.
