JUWI GmbH has signed contracts with three companies from the energy sector for the technical operation, service and maintenance of six additional battery energy storage system (BESS) projects. The projects are currently under construction and are expected to be commissioned within the next six months, according to JUWI.

The six new battery storage projects are being developed for three different companies and have storage capacities ranging from 4 MWh to 100 MWh. JUWI will provide technical operations management as well as service and maintenance services during the first years of the projects’ operating phase.

With the addition of these six projects, JUWI’s managed battery storage portfolio will increase to around 700 MWh of storage capacity. The company said its O&M experts have already been managing battery storage systems in Germany and Belgium for more than five years.

The new contracts expand JUWI’s activities in the technical operation, service and maintenance of battery storage projects. JUWI refers to these activities as operations and maintenance (O&M) services for battery storage systems.

Oliver Otte, Head of O&M at JUWI GmbH, said that three companies from the energy sector have selected JUWI as their O&M partner for the service, maintenance and technical operation of their battery storage systems. He said JUWI’s experience in operating battery storage systems is intended to provide value for investors and operators.

JUWI said its goal is to operate the battery storage systems reliably, safely and economically throughout their entire life cycle. The company said the latest contracts further expand its managed BESS portfolio to around 700 MWh.
