In a move to bolster its electric mobility presence in India, Kia India has introduced two fresh variants of the Carens Clavis EV the HTX E and HTX E [ER] expanding the lineup to six in total.

The entry-level of the new additions, HTX E, is equipped with a 42 kWh battery that delivers an estimated driving range of 404 km on a single charge. Meanwhile, the HTX E [ER] variant ups the ante with a larger 51.4 kWh pack, targeting a range of approximately 490 km.

Both variants feature fast-charging capability: the battery can be charged from 10% to 80% in just 39 minutes — a benefit for both city commuters and those planning longer trips.

On pricing, the HTX E is pegged at ₹19.99 lakh (ex-showroom) and the HTX E [ER] at ₹21.99 lakh (ex-showroom). These sit between existing trims HTK+ and HTX, positioning advanced EV tech at more accessible price-points.

In terms of features, the new variants bring premium touches: a panoramic sunroof, LED lighting across three rows, wireless smartphone charging, leatherette seating, mood lighting, an air purifier with virus-protection, a folding table for second-row passengers and solar glass technology to reduce cabin heat.

Kia’s launch strategy with these two variants underscores its ambition to cater to diverse EV buyer needs — from affordability to extended range — in India’s growing electric-MPV market. Industry observers believe this will help Kia gain stronger share as government incentives, charging infrastructure and consumer interest in sustainable mobility all ramp up.
