Kinetic Watts & Volts, the electric mobility arm of Kinetic Engineering, has entered into a strategic technology partnership with Jio Things to integrate advanced connected technologies across its upcoming electric two-wheeler lineup. The collaboration, announced this week, marks a significant step as Kinetic moves deeper into digital mobility solutions for EV customers.
Under the partnership, Kinetic will embed Jio Things’ Internet of Things (IoT) ecosystem into its new generation of electric scooters. The full-stack platform from Jio Things includes edge devices, secure connectivity, cloud infrastructure, and remote device management, enabling a comprehensive digital experience across all future models.
The advanced connected features set to be introduced include voice-assisted controls, smart digital instrument clusters, real-time connectivity, ride analytics and safety systems. These technologies aim to enhance everyday usability while providing intuitive and data-driven interaction with the vehicle.
For individual riders, the integration promises improved convenience and safety, offering real-time vehicle insights and diagnostics to support daily commuting. This could help simplify routine tasks and make EV riding more engaging and informative for users.
Commercial and fleet operators will also benefit from the technology through advanced telematics, performance monitoring and remote diagnostics — features designed to boost operational efficiency, reduce downtime and support better decision-making for large-scale EV adoption.
Ajinkya Firodia, Vice Chairman and Managing Director of Kinetic Watts & Volts, said the collaboration aligns with Kinetic’s focus on innovation and accessible mobility. By bringing voice assistance and connected solutions to its products, the company aims to strengthen the overall riding experience and support India’s transition toward smarter, more scalable electric mobility solutions.
