The Italian luxury marque Lamborghini has revealed its latest model, the 2025 Urus SE, at its flagship Charlotte showroom. This marks the brand’s first ever plug-in hybrid super SUV, signalling a major shift in its performance-oriented future while retaining the dramatic presence and engineering flair Lamborghini is known for.
The Urus SE combines a twin-turbo 4.0-litre V8 engine with an electric motor in a high-performance hybrid powertrain. Together they deliver approximately 800 CV of power, sprinting from 0-100 km/h in about 3.4 seconds, and reaching a top speed near 312 km/h, showcasing that hybridisation has not dulled Lamborghini’s signature speed or drama.
Beyond pure performance, Lamborghini emphasises greener credentials: the plug-in hybrid setup allows for meaningful emission reductions, with a quoted drop in CO₂ output and the ability to drive on electric power alone over shorter distances. This underlines Lamborghini’s commitment to merging supercar engineering with some of the efficiencies expected in today’s market.
Styling updates on the Urus SE reflect its hybrid nature while remaining unmistakably Lamborghini: a re-sculpted bonnet, matrix-LED headlamps, a refined front grille, an enhanced rear diffuser, and aerodynamic tweaks tailored to the thermal and cooling demands of the hybrid system. Inside, the cockpit adopts the “Feel Like a Pilot” ethos with lightweight materials, advanced digital interfaces and premium finishes throughout.
This launch is more than a one-off product update for Lamborghini—it marks a strategic moment in its electrification journey. The Urus SE serves as both a performance showcase and a bridge to a more electrified future for the brand, balancing high-octane V8 heritage with the electrified era that lies ahead.
For customers, the Urus SE offers a distinctive proposition: the commanding presence and versatility of an SUV, the exhilarating performance and roar of a flagship Lamborghini V8, and now the plug-in hybrid capability that addresses evolving regulatory and market demands. With its debut in Charlotte, Lamborghini has opened a new chapter in its high-performance electrified legacy.
