LeafyBus Secures $4.1 Million to Boost Intercity EV Network

LeafyBus, a leading intercity electric bus operator in India, has secured USD 4.1 million in funding from Enetra India Private Limited, supported by Singapore-based sustainable infrastructure fund Impact Capital Asia Management (ICAM). This investment will fuel the company’s expansion strategy, aiming to grow its fleet from the current 10 buses to over 100 premium electric buses within the next two years, while extending services across key routes in North, East, and South India.

Currently operating on the Delhi–Dehradun corridor with India’s first 360 kW fast-charging station, LeafyBus has proven the feasibility of long-distance electric travel. The company runs up to three trips a day on this route, covering 900 km within 24 hours, setting new standards for reliability, efficiency, and sustainability in intercity transportation.

With the fresh funding, LeafyBus plans to expand into high-demand routes linking cities such as Agra, Lucknow, Chandigarh, Amritsar, and Patna. The company’s growth strategy centers on analyzing passenger demand, ensuring charging infrastructure readiness, and optimizing operations through advanced technology for trip planning, fleet management, and real-time performance monitoring.
