Nissan Motor has launched its all-new GRAVITE, a seven-seater multi-purpose vehicle (MPV), in India. Built locally at Nissan’s Chennai plant, the GRAVITE is priced at an attractive ₹5.65 lakh, aiming to offer Indian families a spacious and practical vehicle in the competitive MPV segment.
The GRAVITE’s design focuses on versatility and comfort, making it suitable for city driving and long family trips alike. Nissan says the MPV balances spacious interiors with everyday usability, providing ample room for passengers and luggage without compromising on style.
The name “GRAVITE” reflects Nissan’s vision for a vehicle that caters to India’s diverse population of 1.4 billion. It emphasizes practicality, adaptability, and family-friendly features, positioning the MPV as an accessible choice for Indian households.
Nissan plans to leverage the GRAVITE as part of a broader growth strategy in India. Following the success of the Magnite SUV, which is exported from India to international markets, the company intends to expand its local portfolio with models like the Tekton C-SUV in mid-2026 and another seven-seater C-SUV in early 2027.
The GRAVITE comes equipped with modern safety features, connectivity options, and efficient powertrain choices tailored for Indian roads. Nissan highlights that the MPV’s design combines reliability with a comfortable ride, targeting both urban commuters and family-oriented customers.
With the launch of the GRAVITE, Nissan aims to strengthen its presence in the Indian MPV segment while offering a competitively priced vehicle that addresses the growing demand for family-friendly, versatile transport. The move marks a significant step in the automakers long-term expansion plan in India.
