Ravindra Energy has announced that its associate company, Energy In Motion (EIM), has signed a Letter of Agreement (LOA) with Contemporary Amperex Technology to establish a supply partnership for lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery cells and battery pack kits in India. The agreement is aimed at supporting EIM’s electric heavy commercial vehicle platform with advanced battery technology.
Under the agreement, CATL will supply 0.5 GWh (500 MWh) of LFP battery cells and battery pack kits to EIM. The supply includes CATL’s upgraded CB7T0 cell model and L324D06 battery pack platform, which offer significantly higher cycle life and improved volumetric energy density compared to the previously used CB230 battery cells.
The battery packs will be configured into 400.6 kWh systems and integrated into EIM’s E-Tractor 4×2 Ashwa series. The upgraded battery technology is expected to support the performance requirements of heavy commercial electric vehicles while improving operational efficiency.
The partnership marks another milestone in EIM’s efforts to strengthen its electric truck platform by adopting next-generation battery solutions. The agreement also reflects the growing collaboration between Indian electric mobility companies and global battery technology providers to accelerate commercial EV adoption.
Ravindra Energy said the agreement will enable EIM to access CATL’s latest LFP battery technology for its commercial electric vehicle applications in India. The advanced battery systems are designed specifically for heavy-duty commercial vehicles, supporting improved durability and long-term operational performance.
The latest agreement highlights the increasing focus on advanced battery technologies in India’s electric commercial vehicle segment. By partnering with CATL, EIM aims to strengthen its electric truck portfolio with high-performance battery systems as demand for sustainable freight mobility continues to grow.
