Suzuki Motor Corporation has officially announced the pricing of its first electric SUV model, the eVX, marking a pivotal moment in the Japanese automaker’s transition toward sustainable mobility. The global debut of the production model was accompanied by detailed specifications and a pricing roadmap, with the vehicle expected to launch initially in India and select global markets.
The Suzuki eVX will be priced starting at approximately ₹25 lakh in the Indian market, positioning it competitively within the growing mid-size electric SUV segment. The vehicle is expected to enter production later in 2024, with deliveries scheduled for early 2025. It will be manufactured at Suzuki’s Gujarat facility, reinforcing the company’s strong commitment to the Indian EV ecosystem.
The eVX, first showcased in concept form at the Auto Expo 2023, features a bold, futuristic design, a spacious cabin, and an expected range of 500 km on a single charge, thanks to its 60 kWh battery pack. Suzuki has confirmed the model will be equipped with advanced features such as connected tech, multiple drive modes, and regenerative braking systems.
Suzuki’s move into the electric SUV space aligns with its global carbon neutrality goals. The company plans to invest significantly in EV and battery technology development, including a joint venture with Toyota for key EV components. The eVX will serve as a flagship product in Suzuki’s broader electrification strategy.
India is expected to be the primary production and export hub for the eVX, with Suzuki targeting both emerging and developed markets in Asia and Europe. Maruti Suzuki, its Indian subsidiary, will handle domestic distribution, while international sales will begin shortly after the India rollout.
With the unveiling of the eVX pricing, Suzuki has joined the growing list of legacy automakers aggressively pursuing the electric mobility shift. The company’s entry is expected to intensify competition in the EV SUV segment, which already includes players like Tata, MG, Hyundai, and Mahindra.
