Tata Motors Commercial Vehicles has delivered its advanced Prima E.55S battery-electric prime movers to Enviiiro Wheels Mobility, a leading provider of sustainable freight solutions in sectors like power, mining, cement, and steel. The handover took place in Chittorgarh, Rajasthan, marking a major milestone in India’s push toward decarbonising industrial logistics.
Built for long-haul heavy-duty operations, the Prima E.55S is powered by a fully electric drivetrain featuring an integrated e-axle and regenerative braking. The truck boasts a claimed range of up to 350 km on a full charge. Dual fast-charging ports help reduce downtime and improve utilization for fleet operators.
Tata has also introduced robust safety and driver comfort features. These include a Driver Monitoring System (DMS), Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), cruise control, Electronic Braking System (EBS), and optional ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems). The cabin is equipped with pneumatically suspended seats and tilt-telescopic steering for enhanced driver comfort during long trips.
Enviiiro Wheels plans to deploy these trucks across its operations in the mining, cement, power, and steel sectors to support its net-zero goals. “With zero emissions, superior performance, and advanced safety features, the Prima E.55S supports our customers’ net-zero goals while setting new standards in clean transportation,” said Praveen Somani, Managing Director of Enviiiro Wheels.
Rajesh Kaul, Vice President & Business Head of Trucks at Tata Motors Commercial Vehicles, commented on the delivery: “We are proud to deliver the first batch of Prima E.55S electric trucks to Enviiiro Wheels. Tata Motors continues to lead India’s transition to sustainable freight with robust, environmentally friendly solutions.”
This launch reinforces Tata Motors’ commitment to alternative fuel mobility, spanning battery-electric, hydrogen fuel cell, CNG, LNG, and other solutions. Backed by its Sampoorna Seva 2.0 network with over 3,200 service touchpoints, Tata aims to ensure comprehensive lifecycle support and maximum uptime for fleet operators. The Prima E.55S delivery underscores a pivotal step toward a cleaner freight ecosystem in India.
