Hyderabad-based Trex Energy has commercially launched its REX BESS 125kW/261kWh, a fully integrated liquid-cooled Battery Energy Storage System designed for commercial and industrial (C&I) applications. The single-cabinet system combines battery storage, liquid cooling, an Energy Management System (EMS), and integrated AC/DC architecture to support multiple energy-management requirements.
The REX BESS features a 261 kWh Lithium Iron Phosphate battery with a nominal voltage of 832V and a cell capacity of 314Ah. The system has a maximum DC voltage of 950V and maximum input active power of 125kW. It is designed for both on-grid and off-grid configurations and can operate in ambient temperatures ranging from -20°C to 55°C, with an IP54 protection rating.
Liquid cooling is one of the key features of the new BESS platform. Trex Energy says the cooling system helps maintain optimal cell temperatures during operation, which can reduce battery degradation and support longer battery life compared with conventional air-cooled systems. The system also incorporates aerosol fire suppression along with protection against overcharge, over-discharge, short-circuit and thermal events.
The company has designed the REX BESS for a range of applications, including peak load management, renewable energy integration, backup power and EV charging support. Its architecture is compatible with PV input, AC bus, grid, loads and EV charging infrastructure, allowing the system to be integrated into different commercial and industrial energy setups.
For smarter energy management, the system includes an integrated EMS with 4G connectivity and a 7-inch HMI touchscreen. These features enable real-time monitoring, remote diagnostics and cloud-based maintenance. Trex Energy has also provided optional 100kW MPPT and 200kW STS modules to support future system expansion.
The REX BESS is also positioned for grid support, with Trex Energy highlighting applications such as frequency regulation, voltage stabilisation and load balancing. By combining liquid-cooled LFP storage, intelligent controls and integrated safety features, the company aims to provide a scalable energy-storage solution for India’s growing commercial, industrial and broader energy-storage requirements.
