Volkswagen energy and charging arm Elli has reached a major milestone by surpassing 900,000 EV charging points across Europe, marking a significant leap in its mission to build one of the world’s largest charging networks. This expansion further solidifies Elli’s role in powering Volkswagen’s growing EV portfolio.
The charging points span 28 countries, making Elli one of the most extensive and accessible charging providers for EV users across the continent. The achievement reflects Volkswagen Group’s broader strategy to become a holistic mobility provider, covering vehicles, energy, and digital services.
To celebrate the milestone, Volkswagen has also launched a global EV road tour featuring its iconic ID. Buzz, aimed at promoting zero-emission mobility. The tour will cover several continents and demonstrate the practical capabilities of EV travel, charging infrastructure, and clean energy integration.
The ID. Buzz, known for its modern take on the classic Microbus, will serve as an ambassador for sustainable mobility. The vehicle will journey across Europe, North America, and Asia, engaging with EV communities, partners, and media to showcase the seamless experience of Volkswagen’s EV ecosystem.
Elli’s growing infrastructure includes partnerships with major charging networks like Ionity, Enel X, and BP Pulse, providing customers with access to public and high-speed charging across urban and highway routes. Volkswagen aims to ensure reliable, cross-border charging access for all its EV users.
With a strong push toward carbon-neutral transportation, Volkswagen’s combined focus on infrastructure and experience is shaping the future of electric mobility. Through Elli and the global ID. Buzz tour, the brand continues to drive awareness, confidence, and convenience in the EV journey.
